Pedal boat hire

Bringing pedal boats back to Luton!

In April 2022, after an 18 year break, we brought pedalos back to Luton at Wardown Park! We are Wardown Leisure Boating, and we have a fleet of six, beautiful pedalos to hire for families, groups, couples, and parties to enjoy and discover the scenery of Wardown Lake from a unique perspective. If you are looking for fun things to do in Luton, look no further!

Our pedal boat hire is from just £2 per child or £4 for people over 16. Contact us to book a large group in advance or just turn up on the day!

WARDOWN PARK – A GREAT PLACE TO VISIT FOR ALL THE FAMILY!

This beautiful park has been around since the 1800s, and was originally purchased as a public park in 1904. Many of the trees, buildings, and decorative items date from this period, and there is a beautiful museum on the grounds too.

Some of the features of Wardown Park include:

The River Lea: Flowing south until it reaches the Thames, the River Lea is widened to create the boating lake at Wardown where our patrons can enjoy pedal boat hire. It includes an island for waterfowl, and a pedestrian suspension bridge, which has recently been faithfully restored.

Luton Cricket Ground:

The Luton Town and Indians Cricket Club, and the Lutonians play their club matches here most summer weekends, and the ground has hosted county games for Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire.

Daisy Chain Wall:

This beautiful architectural feature was part of the original gardens of Wardown House, and was restored in 2005 along with many other parts of the park, using old photographs for reference. It also incorporates a drinking fountain.

Adventure Golf:

There is an adventure golf park nearby too, which many of our visitors enjoy before or after partaking their pedal boat hire on the lake.

Luton Museum:

Wardown House Museum and Gallery is a great place to visit with the family, and provides a wonderful education about the local history of Luton and North Bedfordshire. You can find local archaeology, and find out life stories of many people of Luton over the last 150 years.
